With the number of low-emission electric vehicles on the road expected to double by 2025, the future of vehicles, whether domestic or industrial, looks sure to be electric. But what about the batteries?

With such a spike in demand, the production of electric batteries across the nation is set to skyrocket – but how can we safeguard such relatively new systems to protect life, industry, and manufacturers’ bottom line?

Batteries catch fire. That’s not scaremongering or conjecture – but a scientific fact. So, testing procedures must be in place to effectively reduce the chances of that happening whilst in use, charging or idle.

Thermal cameras have the capability to safely test electric batteries whilst putting them under extreme stress to determine what exactly it will take to get them overload and/or combust, and in what conditions. The high-speed process exposes batteries to worst-case scenarios – all within the enclosed confines of a lab.
